Backstage At The BCBGMaxAzria Show

This morning I was able to get backstage access to the BCBGMaxAzria show (the PR firm at where I am interning represents Phyto, the supplier of the haircare products for the production). After finally arriving at the backstage location (I was only lost for about 20 minutes!), I had the chance to soak up the scene. Here are some of the highlights:

The scene:

Backstage, models were running around, getting prepped for the runway. They were having their hair styled, make-up and nails done. Editors were interviewing members of the respective beauty teams, being ushered around by PR from the teams represented, and photographers and videographers were crowded around, scrambling to catch all of the action. The atmosphere was exciting and the energy was great!  I even spotted Max Azria himself having his hair trimmed before the show!

The hair:

The overall look for the hair was very simple. Bob Recine, who styled the hair for the show clearly wanted the clothes to be able to take center stage. Phyto hair care products were used including the Phytodefrisant, Intense Volume Mousse 12, and the Phyto Laque.

The make-up:

The MAC team was on hand to create all of the make-up looks (surprising to me because I expected Maybelline to be doing the make-up for all of this year's shows). The face was, like the hair, kept simple, and featureda neutral eye with a hint of black liner on the top lid, a soft-looking bronzey cheek, and a natural lip color.
